Regenerative Medicine
Regenerative medicine as a medical discipline attempts to change the course of chronic disease and aid the regeneration of tired and failing organ systems as well as refers to a group of biomedical approaches to clinical therapies that may involve the use of stem cells and the induction of regeneration by biologically active molecules. The need for such biomedical approaches stems from the information on increased aging population leading to the escalation of chronic diseases.
Unit for Regenerative Medicine (RM) integrates research groups from basic science, clinics, education and industry, forming a multidisciplinary environment which facilitates implementation of translational research. By creating new technologies and biological treatments thus augmenting the efficacy and safety of regenerative medicine, RM aims to improve human health and increase quality of life.
