Dubrovnik Airport is about 20 km away from Dubrovnik. Upon arrival, bus transport to Dubrovnik is organized for each regular flight. Departures include bus transport from the bus terminal 1.5 hours before the flights of Croatia Airlines and Austrian Airlines. For all other regular flights the bus from the bus terminal leaves 2 hours before the flight. A taxi service is available all day.
Several petrol stations are situated by the access road to and in Dubrovnik.
The newly built Dubrovnik Bus Terminal is situated in Gruž, in the vicinity of the harbour. In addition to information and booking desks it offers a left-luggage office, taxi stand and kiosk. One of the Dubrovnik Tourist Board Information Offices is also located in close proximity to the Bus Terminal. Apart from international bus lines, Dubrovnik has daily bus lines to all major Croatian cities. The only left-luggage in Dubrovnik is located at the Dubrovnik Bus Terminal. The terminal has excellent local bus connections with other parts of the city. A taxi service is also available.
During your stay in Dubrovnik we recommend you the public bus transport. You will enjoy a pleasant
ride on the new, low-floored, air-conditioned buses of the Libertas Public Transport Company. All city
districts are excellently connected with frequent regular bus lines. The public bus time-tables are posted at every bus stop. They are also available at the Dubrovnik Tourist Board Information Offices
and at your hotel reception desk. Bus tickets can be obtained from the bus driver (15 kunas), at kiosks („S“ ticket – 12 kunas), at the Libertas Company ticket-windows at Pile, Bus Terminal and in Mokošica, at hotel reception desks and tourist agencies. The purchased bus ticket, after being clipped for the first time, is valid for one hour for an unlimited number of rides within the city. The price for a daily bus ticket is 30 kunas.
Taxi stands are located in the busiest parts of the city (City Map), with the taxi fares posted in a prominent place. When a customer enters a taxi, the taximeter must be running. If the taximeter is not running, the customer is not obliged to pay the fare. The taxi accommodates a maximum of four people. If you would like to lodge a complaint for the taxi service charge, it would be useful to obtain the bill from the driver including the valid stamp, the service given and the registration plate. You may take a taxi for a memorable panoramic tour of the City and its surroundings.
